@Anita: Thanks Anita! It really is a cool flower! For the BG I use a large piece of plain black fabric. I've used velvet in the past, but found that it reflected too much light depending on the angle of my lights. For the lighting - there's a light on either side at about the same height as the flower, the right one being brighter, obviously. They're also both turned back just a bit, creating the slight color in the BG, which sometimes I like and sometimes I don't. :) I always love the work you do with natural light, and wish I could do more of the same. But you've got those giant windows to work with, which must be helpful! I've got a pretty small window, and a lot of it's blocked by trees and shrubs. Oh well! :) Anyway, how's that for a reallllly long answer?? :)

@Anita: Oh, I hate flash. For flowers anyway. I never use it. I've just got some cheap daylight bulbs in some cheap walmart reflectors, and it works well for me. I really like being able to see the light and manipulate it however I want. :)
